| AOKI - Haruo Aoki started his koi business as a hobby which then slowly developed into a business, along side his other business which is a meat restaurant in Katakai village near Ojiya. His main aim was to produce new varieties, he achieved his aim in the mid 1990's by producing his Kikokuryu. This variety took the koi world by storm. Since then he has developed the Kin Kikokuryu and the Beni Kikokuryu. He also produces exceptionally high quality Doitsu varieties these include Doitsu Kohaku, Doitsu Sanke, Doitsu Yamatonishiki and others. His koi are now extremely popular not just in Japan but also around the world. High quality koi from 1 year old to around 6 years old can always be seen. Apart from his farm ponds in the mountains of Koshiji he has a fish house just outside Katakai. |
